Why holidays bring more lock calls
Holidays mean travel, guests, house-sitters and a lot of coming and going. Keys get left in the wrong bag, spare keys are lent out and forgotten, and cars are packed with the keys still inside.
What to expect from a holiday call
The dispatch line is answered every day, all day. When you call, ask for an estimate and the current wait time, as busy holidays can affect availability. Our old site stated there’s no extra charge for holidays and weekends; confirm with the dispatcher when you call.
Before you travel
- Leave a spare key with a trusted neighbor rather than under a mat
- Check that every exterior door locks and latches properly
- Consider a keypad lock so you can share a temporary code with house-sitters
- Rekey when you get back if a key was lent out and not returned
Hosting guests
If guests will come and go, a temporary keypad code or a properly logged spare key beats leaving a door unlocked. Delete the code when they leave.
